Limassol Nautical Club’s Rares Nechita, a young and promising rower, took part in the virtual World Indoor Rowing Championship, organised by the World Rowing Federation and presented by Concept2, last Tuesday 23rd of February.
Rares raced among some of the world’s best athletes in his category and finished fifth while breaking the National Record for the U23 and Men categories. The old record of 06:10 (for 2 km) was broken by Nechita’s 06:04!
We are sending out our warmest congratulations for his great achievement!
Next milestone for Rares is the Tokyo 2020 qualification and we wish him, and his coach Maria Hadjielia every success moving forward!
On Instagram you can watch Rares' finish that was streamed live during his race.
