Big moments for the local sports scene at the First Kayak Night Sprint Regatta

The first Kayak Night Sprint Regatta has exceeded every expectation! The innovative international sporting event took place last weekend with great success at the Limassol Marina!

A first for the world Kayak community, a challenging idea for an event that never happened before was embraced by local and international athletes! The Kayak Night Sprint Regatta was first embraced by the International Canoe-Kayak Federation, the Cyprus Sports Organisation and the official Ambassador of the event, the 3 times Gold and one Silver Olympic medalist Zoltan Kammerer!

The Limassol Nautical Club in collaboration with the Cyprus Sports Organisation and the hospitality of the Limassol Marina and its staff brought this event to life! The sprint regatta welcomed over 70 athletes from 7 different countries, who gave the audience moments of excitement and thrill during the 100m races on Saturday and Sunday evening.

Big stars of the race, the Olympic medalists Zoltan Kammerer, Tamas Kulifai, David Toth and the World Champions Kos Benedek, Attila Jámbor, Victoria Nagy and Korsós Zsófia  who honoured the first Kayak Night Sprint Regatta with their participation!

Present during the event was the Mayor of Limassol Mr. Nicos Nicolaides, the Mayor of Yermasogia Mr. Kyriakos Xydias, the Chairman of the Cyprus Sports Organisation (CSO) Mr. Andreas Michailides, the members of the CSO, Mr. Andreas Mylonas and Mr. Stelios Stylianou, Mr. Loizos Mavroudes, member of the Limassol Municipal Council and Chairman of the Youth and Sport Committee and Mr. Apostolos Psaras, member of the Limassol Municipal Council.
