1st International Coastal Rowing Beach Sprints

Limassol Nautical Club is proud to announce the 1st International Coastal Rowing Beach Sprints Competition which will take place from 01 - 02 April 2023, at Malindi Beach, Pareklisia, Limassol district. The races will start at 9:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the afternoon, both days and are for rowers who are members of the Cyprus Rowing Federation or their country's Federation or Members of the World Rowing Federation. Participants will have the opportunity to train at the venue where the games will be held on March 31, from 12:00 - 18:00.

"We are proud to organize the first international coastal rowing competitions in Cyprus" said Mr. Andreas Papadopoulos, President of NOL. "In addition to the benefits that the participants will have, the people who will watch the games will have the opportunity to get to know coastal rowing, the sport that, according to all indications, will be included in the program of the 2028 Olympic Games"

Match description:

2 or 4 athletes compete against each other starting with a 30m sprint on the beach until they reach their boat (single or double), follow a series of slaloms in the water for 500m and finally exit their boats for a sprint run for another 30 meters to the finish line.

The registration fee is €30 per seat. Registration will be open: 15/2 - 26/3
