Michalis Kyriacou

He graduated in 2003 from Semmelweis University in Hungary, after studying physical education specializing in canoeing-kayaking. During his stay in Hungary, he had the opportunity to work with Olympic medalists and international champions, but also the best canoe-kayak coaches in the world (Sera Miklos, Urogi Laszlo), as Hungary has a reputation for being one of the strongest countries in this sport.

In 2003 he took charge of Limassol Nautical Club’s canoe-kayak division and contributed to the Club’s winning its first national championship since the Federation was founded in 1998. From 2003 until present, Limassol Nautical Club has won 9 national championships.

He has taken part in 20 international, European and university championships as an athlete, and later as a coach. As a coach, he counts a number of successes, as many of his athletes have qualified in international competitions such as the Universiade, while in 2014, one of his athletes will participate in the 1st European Olympic Games that will take place in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.

A number of his athletes also qualified in the European championship for men and came 15th and 23rd, while others came first in Greek championships and international regattas such as the European Olympic Hopes and many more.
